Leona LaurenLeona Louise Lewis, born on 3 April 1985 is an actress musician, activist, and singer who hails from Britain. Born and raised within the London Borough of Islington, she studied at her school at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. Lewis became famous after she won the third series on The X Factor 2006 and won a contract worth PS1,000,000 and Syco music. The winning single and was a cover Kelly Clarkson's song "A Moment Like This" was downloaded 50,000 times in just 30 minutes and was ranked at the top of the charts for four weeks. In February 2007, Lewis agreed to sign a five-album deal with the United States with Clive Davis's record label, J Records. Lewis's successes continued when she released her debut album, Spirit (2007). The album was certified platinum in the UK, becoming the fourth-best-selling album of 2000s. According to the Official Charts Company claims that Spirit was the best-selling 21st century album of debut by a female artist. The album's first single "Bleeding Love" remains on top of the UK chart for seven weeks, and was the top-selling single of the year 2007. The song was among the best-selling in 2008 as well. Lewis won an award for her work, the Billboard Award for Best New Artist. Her debut album was Echo in 2009 , and recorded "I See You" as the theme song. Lewis has also released "Collide," a joint work with Swedish DJ Avicii. In the year 2011, she also dropped Hurt The Extended Play from her first EP. Glassheart (2012) was her third album of studio work. Lewis drew inspiration from electronic and dubstep music. When she was on the Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began recording material to her Christmas debut album. Christmas, With Love came out later in the year. The album's first single, "One More Sleep", peaked at number three within the UK. By releasing this chart entry Lewis was the very first British female artist in the top five spot with eight singles. This was more than Olivia Newton-John's record of seven.
